JIMI HENDRIX UNPLUGGED

EK has signed on to co-excutive produce and mix a Jimi Hendrix Unplugged album with veteran producer Spencer Proffer for SONY /LEGACY.The album will feature world renowned artists such as Graham Nash (CSN)with Jason Mraz ,Heart with Eddie Vedder,etc. re-imagining Hendrix’s classic songs. Lee Trink (former President of Capitol/EMI) is also a co-executive producer.Janie Hendrix, CEO of Experience Hendrix, has given this project her blessing.

“SIGNS”

Signs, filmed by Garth Douglasis is the new campaign anthem for signs of hope-40 days and 40 nights to Durban (U.N. Convention on climate change November 20th 2011)

EK produced and engineered a remake of the song “Signs” for Friends of the Earth performed by the band 5 Man Electric Band and guests such as Suzie Mc Neil, Lawrence Gowan (Styx), Donnie Walsh/Chuck Jackson, Peter Fredette, Rich Dodson, George Olliver, Becky Abbott, Mike Bell/Steve Hollingworth. The recording took place in Toronto at Phase 1 Studios and the mixing was done at at LAFX studios in Los Angeles.

This was all film by Garth Doglas of GSD Media Toronto for a simultaneous video release.

EK appeared on a panel with Harper Simon (Paul Simon’s son) and Lou Adler at Cinespia Movies ‘til Dawn at Hollywood Forever on Aug 13th,featuring Monterey Pop in 5.1 Surround Sound.

FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF THE GLASS

EK will be doing a lecture/Seminar series at Electric Lady Studios, for Extreme Music and Grand Master on 15th Sept 2011 for the top Echelon of music supervisors in NYC.

JIMI 4CD BOX SET

EK has produced with John Mc Dermott and Janie Hendrix a 4CD Box set of Jimi Hendrix ‘s historic performance at Winterland SF recorded in 1968. Jimi played for 3 nights in a row two shows per night!! EK has managed to re-mix these staggering performances and enhance the sound, but retain the raw power of the original. Using the very best of the analogue world and combining it with the latest digital technology EK has made sure that Jimi ‘s message comes shining through. In addition SONY Legacy is re- releasing Hendrix in the West with additional material.

ROCK AND ROLL FANTASY CAMP

EK continues his participation in the very popular Rock n’ Roll Fantasy Camp. He recorded 8 bands in three days, one day of which was filmed/taped for the VH1 second season, which airs on August 10th.

PHILIP SAYCE

EK mixed a new live Philip Sayce album, which was just released in Europe to major critical acclaim to accompany his sell out tour.

ETERNAL DESCENT

EK continues his work with Llexi Leon for the Multi Media extravaganza “Eternal Descent”. The Large instrumental piece featuring heavy metal shredding with a Symphonic 60 piece orchestra arranged by top Hollywood arranger “TC “Tom Calderaro is a stunning example of the genre. The comic books continue to sell well in the market place. An animated series is in the works!!
